Flake Bake is the next "Big Thing"

In the fast-paced world of consumer goods, catching the eye of the masses can be a game-changer for any product.

Sometimes, it takes just one appearance on a popular platform to catapult a brand into the spotlight. Such was the case for Flake Bake, a small artisan bakery, whose products flew off the shelves after featuring on Aldi's "Next Big Thing" TV show.

Flake Bake, known for their delectable handmade Jamaican pastries and innovative flavours, firmly rooted in Caribbean tastes and style had been quietly building a loyal local following. Their commitment to quality ingredients and unique recipes set them apart in an increasingly competitive market. However, it wasn't until their appearance on Aldi's "Next Big Thing" that they experienced a surge in demand like never before. In fact, they sold out within a staggering 48 hours.

The show, which showcases up-and-coming products with the potential to become household names, featured Flake Bake's signature pastry, the "Flaky Delight." This mouthwatering treat, with its buttery layers and decadent fillings, captured the attention of viewers across the nation.

Following the airing of the episode, Flake Bake saw an unprecedented influx of orders. Social media platforms were abuzz with rave reviews and eager inquiries about where to purchase their products.

Within hours, their online store was inundated with requests, and their brick-and-mortar locations were flooded with customers eager to taste the Next Big Thing for themselves.

The sudden surge in demand presented both opportunities and challenges for Flake Bake. On one hand, they were thrilled to see their hard work and dedication pay off in such a dramatic fashion. On the other hand, they faced the daunting task of scaling up production to meet the overwhelming demand.

Fortunately, Flake Bake rose to the occasion, ramping up their operations while maintaining their commitment to quality and craftsmanship. They hired additional staff, expanded their production facilities, and worked tirelessly to ensure that every customer received the same exceptional experience they had come to expect from Flake Bake.

Despite the challenges, the team at Flake Bake remained steadfast in their dedication to their craft. They refused to compromise on the quality that had earned them their loyal following in the first place. Every pastry was still made with the same care and attention to detail, ensuring that each bite was a delight for the senses.

As word of mouth continued to spread and demand showed no signs of slowing down, Flake Bake found themselves facing a new set of opportunities. With their newfound fame, they began to explore partnerships with other retailers and online platforms, expanding their reach beyond their local community and into new markets across the country.

The story of Flake Bake's meteoric rise serves as a testament to the power of passion, quality, and the right opportunity. In an industry dominated by big-name brands and mass-produced goods, they proved that there is still a place for artisanal craftsmanship and innovative flavors. And as they continue to grow and evolve, one thing is certain: Flake Bake is here to stay.

So, the next time you're craving a sweet treat that's a cut above the rest, look no further than Flake Bake. Their pastries may have sold out after their appearance on Aldi's Next Big Thing, but their commitment to excellence is as fresh as ever.

Good news! Aldi's beer and cider ranges are now plastic free!

Aldi has removed all plastic packaging from its own-label four-pack beers and ciders to further slash plastic waste.

The UK’s fourth-largest supermarket has replaced potentially environmentally dangerous plastic shrink wrap and rings with a safer, greener cardboard alternative.

The packaging is fully recyclable at home and removes 95 tonnes of plastic packaging per year, as part of Aldi’s continuing efforts to reduce its environmental impact and develop alternative packaging for its products.

Luke Emery, Plastics and Packaging Director at Aldi, said: “Minimising plastic waste is important to both Aldi and our customers, and we are always looking for ways to adapt our packaging. Moving our beer and cider to card packaging is another step in our fight against unwanted plastic.”

The change follows Aldi’s switch to fully recyclable own-label handwash packaging in May and the removal of single-use cutlery from its Food To Go range in September.

“The next phase of our expansion will involve another 500 new stores over the coming years. It's a long-term target and shouldn't be seen as a ceiling to our ambition to have an Aldi store close to everyone in the UK.”

Are you perhaps feeling braver? Well, why not walk into the wing of fire with the Wing Roulette (£4.99, 1.1kg), a lucky dip of marinated chicken wings with spice levels that vary from mild to insanely hot. Put your taste buds to the test and see if you can handle the heat!

Pair your choice of chicken with a massive host of sides inspired by Nando’s classics like: Spicy Rice (1.99, 300g), Mighty Peas (£1.99, 250g), Corn on the Cob (£1.99, 255g), Peri Peri Seasoned Fries (£1.49, 255g) and Rainbow Slaw (£0.79, 300g).

If that’s not saucy enough, try Aldi’s Peri Peri Mayo (£0.99, 170g) blending peri-peri chili spice and creamy mayonnaise, adding a vibrant and tangy kick to any dish.

But it doesn’t end there! Those looking for an alternative to meat, need look no further than Aldi, because Aldi has introduced its brand-new Plant Menu Peri Peri No Chicken (£1.99, 240g). Perfect for vegetarians, these plant-based alternatives will have even the biggest chicken fans guessing.

Calling all Wilko staff! Aldi wants to have a word with you about a job

The Aldi supermarket chain has issued a call to all Wilko staff impacted by the collapse of their former employer to get in touch with Aldi as there are over 6,000 jobs currently available across its UK stores.

Britain’s fourth-largest supermarket, which recently announced the creation of 800 jobs in new stores over the next coming months, has revealed that it is also recruiting for a large volume of other store roles across the UK to support its continued expansion.

Aldi hopes to offer these long-term retail roles to people who are losing their jobs as a result of the Wilko downturn, or other store staff cutbacks, with a range of Aldi positions available from Store Assistants and Caretakers all the way to Store Managers.

Kelly Stokes, Aldi's Recruitment Director said: “We continue to welcome more and more customers to Aldi stores on a weekly basis, so we're working very hard to meet the huge demand for our unbeatable value prices.

“This means we need to find thousands of new Aldi colleagues to support this growth, which will hopefully be of interest to those who have recently lost out due to closures elsewhere, such as at Wilko."

Aldi colleagues are the best-paid in the UK supermarket sector. Store Assistants receive starting pay of £11.40 per hour, whilst those based in London receive £12.85 per hour. And Aldi is the only supermarket to pay for breaks which can be worth up to £972 a year.
