Good news for shoppers! Morrisons saves customers money at the petrol pumps

Morrisons is helping its customers save money on fuel by offering 5p off every litre at the pumps this October.

All customers who spend £35 between Monday 16th October and Sunday 22nd October will receive a coupon giving them 5p off every litre of fuel they purchase. The offer is available to customers who shop in store or online including those using the Click & Collect service.

The coupon is redeemable at all Morrisons petrol stations  and customers have until Monday 30th October to spend it.

This latest fuel offer is one of several recent moves being made by Morrisons to help its customers’ money go further.  In September, Morrisons cut over 170 prices across the store and also celebrated 'More Month,' offering customers significant savings, extra More Card points, and exclusive deals as part of its More Card loyalty scheme.

Morrisons launched its More Card earlier this year and one of the perks of the scheme is that customers can earn five More Points for every litre of fuel purchased in a Morrisons petrol filling station (But not franchised Morrisons Daily petrol stations.)

They can also earn More Points on selected products in store, in petrol filling station kiosks and online.  When reaching 5,000 points, customers are rewarded with a ‘Morrisons Fiver’ that can be spent both in-store and online.

Rachel Eyre, Chief Customer & Marketing Officer at Morrisons, said: “We know that fuel remains a significant cost for many households and so this offer aims to help budgets go a little further.  On top of the 5p per litre discount, More Card customers will still earn their usual five points for every litre of fuel which will help build up their points so they can be rewarded with Morrisons Fivers.”

The required £35 customer spend excludes items such as: fuel, tobacco, tobacco-related products (including vapes), lottery products, Morrisons café, gift vouchers & cards, infant/formula milk, cash back, dry cleaning, fireworks, online games and instant tickets, photo printing, saver stamps, postage stamps, ‘top-up’ mobile phone cards, delivery charges/pass, garden centre & pharmacy (where applicable).

Morrisons has 340 filling stations across the UK and for further information and the full terms & conditions please visit: https://www.morrisons.com/more/terms-and-conditions.

More Reasons to Shop at Morisons as it kicks off 'More Month': Four weeks of industry leading deals and money saving offers

Morrisons is helping customers stock up, budget and bank extra loyalty card points with the launch of ‘More Month’ this month, September. They are available both online and in-store.

More Card customers will have access to more exclusive offers than ever before, with an average discount of over 30% on cupboard staples such as breakfast cereals and lunch box fillers, as customers get back into their life routines during the month of September.

Stock up items like confectionery pouches have also been included ahead of Halloween and Christmas and customers can now find More Card Exclusives in Morrisons petrol filling stations, too.

Extra ‘More Points’ will also be available to customers on a range of branded products for the first time ever, plus a wider selection of Morrisons own brand products.

Once a customer has saved 5,000 points, they'll receive a ‘Morrisons Fiver’ which can be redeemed on a future shop. For example, customers can earn:

400 points when they buy 1.75l Coke

300 points on Dolmio sauces 750G

1,800 points on Huggies Drynites (carry packs)

500 points on selected wines

150 points on Morrisons 12 British Beef Meatballs 340G

600 points if they purchase a meal of the day in a Morrisons café.

Customers can continue to earn points when shopping at Morrisons Market Street counters, where trained and skilled colleagues prepare fresh food, daily.  Offers include 100 points on sweet treats like brownies, doughnuts and a variety of loaves at the bakery and 500 points when customers buy three products at the Deli counter.

Morrisons Fish Fridays and Steak Saturdays, where More Card customers can get 20% off fresh fish or British steaks from the Market Street counter are also continuing following positive feedback from customers. (EDITOR: Steak Saturdays? Time for a trip to our local Morisons at the weekend, I think!)

Also, Morrisons is reducing over 170 prices across the store this week. That's its eighth round of price reductions this year, so far.

Since January, Morrisons has committed to having over 1,000 prices lowered and locked every week to help tits customers plan their budgets without worrying unduly about price fluctuations.

Rachel Eyre, who is Chief Customer and Marketing Officer at Morrisons, said: “Customers tell us September is a chance for them to ‘reset’ and try new routines after the more expensive summer months.

"We also know saving for Christmas is already on their minds and so we've launched ‘More Month’  to help.  We’ve added industry leading exclusive offers to items our customers buy weekly, plus products to stock up on ahead of the festive season.  Customers can also benefit from More Points on branded and own brand products and on top of that we are continuing to cut prices across our stores.”

Morrisons More Card launched in May 2023 and gives loyal customers even More Reasons to shop at Morrisons.  Customers can earn points on selected products and counters in store and online as well as 5 points for every 1 litre of fuel purchased in a Morrisons petrol filling station.

As well as More Card Exclusive offers, customers are rewarded with regular, personalised deals on the categories they say matter most to them including meat, dairy and impulse buys.  Once a customer has saved 5,000 points, they earn a Morrisons Fiver which they can also opt to save for a special occasion or convert to Fivers straight away.

More Month offers are available in all of Morrisons 499 supermarkets and the majority of products can be found online, too.

Morrisons offers customers double more card points for every litre of fuel purchased

Morrisons is offering its customers double More Card points on every litre of fuel purchased to help them make more savings with their weekly shop.

From today, Monday 14th August until Monday 28th August, customers can earn 10 points per litre of fuel purchased with no minimum spend in store necessary. The scheme runs across the bank holiday weekend, too, so those filling up for their travels can get more for their money.

Customers must have a Morrisons More Card membership to be able redeem the deal and must simply scan their card at the point of the transaction to qualify.

Morrisons launched the More Card loyalty scheme earlier this year to allow customers to earn More Points on selected products in store, online and on fuel. When reaching ,5000 points, customers will be rewarded with a ‘Morrisons Fiver’ that can be spent in-store or online.

During September, when scanning their More Card, some lucky customers will be invited to earn free points via the ‘Basket Bonus’ initiative. Morrisons also offers a collector scheme at seasonal moments like summer and Christmas. These enable customers to receive points rewards.

Rachel Eyre, Chief Customer & Marketing Officer at Morrisons, said: “Fuel is a vital, necessary purchase for many of our customers on a weekly basis. By offering double More Points at our fuel pumps, we're helping customers build up their points so they can be rewarded with Morrisons Fivers to reduce the cost of their weekly shop.”

Morrisons has 340 filling stations across the UK and for further information and the full terms & conditions please visit: https://www.morrisons.com/more/terms-and-conditions/.

Please note: This offer excludes any franchised Morrisons Daily petrol stations.

(EDITOR: Although not strictly a "food" story, I decided to include it because many people we know who shop at Morrisons do have and use More Cards and do buy fuel at Morrisons when they are doing the weekly or monthly grocery shop.)

Morrisons More Card launches nationwide with the return of Morrisons Fivers

Morrisons is once again giving customers “More Reasons To Shop At Morrisons” with the national rollout of its new Morrisons More Card loyalty programme, which includes the return of the popular Morrisons Fivers.

As well as the new loyalty scheme, a major new advertising and brand campaign launches today which revives the “More Reasons To Shop At Morrisons” strapline, which was introduced in Sir Ken Morrison’s time and still resonates strongly despite last being used in 2006.

Rachel Eyre, Chief Customer and Marketing Officer at Morrisons, said: “Customers have been telling us how much they've missed the Morrisons Fivers and so we’ve brought them back as part of a radical overhaul of the Morrisons loyalty scheme.

"The new More Card, which replaces the My Morrisons scheme, -will enable customers to earn points on selected purchases, including fuel, and redeem those points for fivers off their shopping.  The card will also give customers access to exclusive More Card prices with market-leading discounts on our  customers’ favourites."

She went on to say: “Alongside the launch of the new loyalty programme, we're also thrilled to announce our new brand campaign, “More Reasons To Shop at Morrisons”. Customers tell us there are so many distinctive and motivating reasons to choose Morrisons, such as helpful tips from our expert butchers and fishmongers, our commitment to British meat and produce or fan-favourite freshly baked doughnuts, and so despite not being used for a long time, “More Reasons” still really resonates with our customers.  We’ve brought it back in a major new campaign which celebrates customers' real reasons for choosing Morrisons, in a funny, yet relatable way. And yes - even the iconic jingle is back!”

Today's announcement demonstrates that Morrisons is committed to offering customers great value and follows four waves of price cuts this year already.  As well as the loyalty programme, Morrisons will continue to offer customers “More Reasons To Shop at Morrisons” with great deals on a wide variety  of products that are vital to customers, including big brands and Morrisons unique Market Street counters, where skilled colleagues, including butchers and bakers, prepare fresh food for customers.

This week, for example, customers can pick up a 20-piece British BBQ meat pack for £9.99, enjoy two breakfasts for £10 in a Morrisons café or buy six bottles of wine and save 25%.

The new More Card, which can be used as a physical card or app, has been trialled in a number of stores over the last few weeks and feedback from customers has been extremely positive.  Customers will be able to earn points on selected products and counters in store and online as well as earning five points for every litre of fuel purchased in a Morrisons petrol filling station.   Examples of points available this week include:

100 More Points for every five pack of doughnuts (89p)

500 More Points for every £5 spent at the pizza counter

600 More Points for every £6 spent in a Morrisons café

100 More Points for every British BBQ meat pack from the butcher’s counter.

Once a customer has saved 5,000 points, they will receive a Morrisons Fiver which can be redeemed on a future shop, in store or online.

Morrisons programme of market leading exclusive offers which launched last October for loyalty card members remains a key feature of the new scheme and the range of offers will continue to grow.  The More Card Exclusives enable customers to benefit from industry leading deals and discounts, which in launch week include:

1 litre Spirits for £17

Nescafé Gold 300g and Nescafé Original 200g for £4.99

Pringles for £1.25

Cathedral City Cheese 350g for £3.00

Fish Friday - 20% off fresh fish from the Market Street fish counter each Friday

Steak Saturdays - 20% of British steaks from the Market Street butcher’s counter each Saturday.

More Card customers can also benefit from:

Personalised offers - App users will be able to activate their offers on their device while card users will receive vouchers at the till that can be redeemed on a future purchase

Surprises - Surprise offers will help make the most of key moments such as flowers at Mother’s Day or sweet treats at Halloween

Basket Bonus - When a customer scans the app or swipes their card they may be in with a chance to ‘bag a bonus’ offer.  It might be money off a shop or a treat from a Market Street counter.

The new “More Reasons To Shop At Morrisons” brand campaign, created with Leo Burnett,  debuted today on Coronation Street.  The campaign, which includes a brand new look and feel, will run across TV, radio, press, digital display, social media and out of home as well as in Morrisons stores and online.

(Please note extra points do not apply at franchised petrol stations.)

As a loyal Morrisons' shopper (my late parents both worked at Morrisons) I'm pleased to see the return of the Morrisons More Card!
