For example, there are vegan burgers, meat alternatives, meatless sausages, non-gelatine jellies,  milkless milks, non-cream creams, vegan ice creams, vegan cheeses, vegan drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Who is offering their support to Veganuary 2022? Stars and influencers such as Joanna Lumley, Venus Williams, Jane Goodall and Birmingham's very own poet, Benjamin Zephaniah.

Joanna Lumley said “Veganuary’s mission is to make the world a kinder, safer, happier place for all, which makes their January campaign utterly irresistible.

"I’m in awe of every single person taking part for the climate, our rivers and oceans, forests and wild places, animals and people. You’re all angels.”

Mince meat pies with real meat?

Whilst doing some research I found a very interesting YouTube channel which has many interesting recipes on it. Including one with an original 18th Century mince meat pie recipe which contains real meat.

Yes. That's correct. Real meat. It's actually why mince meat pies are still called mince meat pies because they all originally had meat in their recipes!

The channel called Townsends and the video is titled "Christmas Mince Pie - 18th Century Cooking with Jas. Townsend and Son S3E5" and we see Ivy and Jon hard at work in the kitchen.

The channel is aimed at Children, but they welcome all foodies to sign up and join in the foodie fun!

Atomy Colorfood Vitamin C

One of the first scientists to deeply research the benefits of consuming Vitamin C was Nobel Prize winning chemist and biochemist Linus C. Pauling.

Vitamin C was first identified as being the cure for the potentially fatal disease call scurvy, caused by Vitamin C deficiency.

It is also known to be important in helping the body to fight off infections and to treat infections once established in the human body. Unlike most animals humans  cannot manufacture Vitamin C, so humans rely entirely on their diet for Vitamin C, including Vitamin C supplements.

However, it must be realised that Atomy Colorfood Vitamin C is not just a standard Vitamin C supplement. It is designed specifically to ensure that you are helped to follow the 5 a day guidelines that health experts are promoting as vital to our continued good health.

As well as containing vitamin C, Atomy Colorfood Vitamin C also contains concentrated mango powder, freeze dried strawberries, pumpkin extract powder, mandarin extract powder, pomegranate extract powder, collagen from fish, extract of chicory powder, Phellinus linteus powder (it's a type of mushroom), turmeric extract powder and CoQ10.

It provides people with (on average) 556% of their daily value for vitamin C.

Vitamin C is a highly valued antioxidant and it can neutralise harmful and potentially dangerous free radicals know for having the potential to cause damage to our cell walls.

Atomy Colorfood Vitamin C is available in a powderised form which can be mixed with water. It has a rather pleasant sweet and sour mango flavour and the recommended intake is one packet every day.

Price to members is £17.00 per box of 90.

You need to get Inside Out

Inside Out is a drink that tastes great but also has benefits, too.

Almost everyone has been there. A mission to just pop out for one, or maybe two drinks can turn into a marathon session and you are paying for it the next day with a monstrous hangover.

And we then feel guilty as we reach for painkillers and try to sort ourselves out by detoxing, promising never to be so silly ever again. But by then detoxing probably will not be of much help.

But this is where Inside Out can step in to be of assistance.

Their Plant and Berry based drink is filled full of special antioxidants bespoke designed to help support a healthy liver.

They describe it as their "drink before you drink" and point out that it will dramatically reduce your hangover.

Another plus point in this radical drink's favour is that it only has 29 calories per can. What are the ingredients? Water, hibiscus flower infusion, cranberry juice concentrate, natural goji extract, stevia, milk thistle, potassium sorbate and green tea extract.

How doe they taste? Absolutely delicious!

I'll have to confess when I tried them I wasn't expecting a hangover or even in the midst of one, but I was feeling below par. I was suffering from the aftereffects of long COVID and an unrelated sinus infection when I thought "In for a penny, in for a pound!" and tried Inside Out.

Did Inside Out help me? Yes, I think it did, as making sure your body is functioning as well as it can is a surefire way of helping it to detox which is, of course, a key way to get yourself feeling 100% again.

You can by them still or sparkling. Six 250ml cans cost £17.99 for still or sparkling. You can buy them direct at https://insideoutdrinks.co.uk/.

They are also looking for wholesale dealers or retailers to stock Inside Out, so if you would like bulk discounts, please get in touch with them.
